Madison City Youth Orchestra

Making Music, Friends, and Memories

 Legacy Scholarship

Alec "Boone" Clark joined the Madison City Youth Orchestra in 2013.

Boone was a constant, always smiling, offering encouragement, sharing “group hugs,” and leading through example—musically and mentally. He took private violin lessons in the Wortham's  home, and they were blessed to get even closer to him there. His parents, Ken and Nansi, raised a remarkable young man!

The Alec “Boone” Clark Award allows Boone’s legacy to continue through one outstanding member of the orchestra per year. Each recipient will exhibit the same impeccable character, respectful attitude, humble leadership, dedication to practice, willingness to serve, quick humor, immense musical talent, and desire to share that gift with others as Boone so readily demonstrated during his time with us. Boone joined MCYO during its premier season, and in every season forward, his heartbeat will be heard in the music he so dearly loved.

We are honored to have been a part of his journey, sharing hugs, laughter, prayers, music, and friendship. We believe Boone is accompanying the Great Maestro God, making beautiful music in eternity’s orchestra, too. Heaven is only a heart beat away.
